On receiving an enquiry we arrange to meet you for a preliminary meeting or if preferred all required documentation and questionnaires will be sent on-line. The purpose of the meeting is firstly to establish whether we are able to assist with your needs and objectives and secondly to discuss how we would be paid for our services should we be instructed to proceed. There is no charge for this preliminary meeting and no obligation on either side.
After the initial complimentary consultation, we will agree with you whether you pay us a fee, or we are paid out of the cost of any financial product you buy (commission). We will always tell you about any commission we earn, and it will be taken into account in working out our fee.
Commission is paid to an adviser by a provider, usually an insurance company or mortgage provider for the successful placing of business. The commission is included within the provider's normal product charges, so there is nothing you need to pay us in addition. The amount of commission is based on a percentage of the premiums paid.
We will always tell you about any commission we earn, and it will be taken into account in working out our fee.
Whether we take our remuneration by way of commission or fees will be a matter of discussion and agreement, and no charges for fees will be made without prior notification in writing.
Any fees payable will be based on the level of work involved. It is therefore important to give accurate information to your adviser at the initial meeting. Failure to do so may result in an increase in the level of work involved arranging your mortgage and our fee may need to be increased accordingly.
If you ask us to arrange a mortgage for you we can be paid by either commission or a fee.
*It is our general policy not to charge fees to forces personnel.
*On rare occasions where the mortgage is small the commission payable to the broker may not be sufficient to cover the level of work involved. It may therefore be necessary to charge a small fee. This will be explained to the client at the beginning of the process in accordance with our client agreement.
If your mortgage fails to complete due to inaccurate information being given by yourself, unfortunately your fee cannot be refunded.
